A new Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) was implemented in the Dutch housing market as per 1st January 2009. The EPC shows the energy-efficiency rating of a dwelling in comparison to similar housing units and gives an insight into additional measures to improve the dwelling’s energy-efficiency.

Far West aims at an average certificate “B” for its total stock and an “A” for its new developments. In order to achieve this, Far West equips houses with: insulated glazing (HR ++); high efficiency boilers (HR 107); district heating; roof, wall and cavity insulation; solar panels, and energy-efficient lighting. These measures not only lower water bills and energy costs, they also provide more comfort for the residents.
