Far West participates in the EU project “Energy Efficient Community Stimulation by use and Integration of Local Resources”, better known as: Ecostiler.

The project started in 2005, with the objective to bring about a considerable reduction in the use of fossil fuels and subsequent carbon dioxide emissions. As it was set up for the limited period of four years, the project is ended in 2009.
Thanks to the application of better insulation techniques and sophisticated systems, carbon dioxide emissions were indeed reduced by 40-50% in two distinct Ecostiler regeneration projects: De Leeuw van Vlaanderen in the district of Kolenkitbuurt and Complex 40 in Overtoomse veld.
